The seventh edition of the SEGUE SESSIONS, India’s first large format skill building and networking event for women coming back to career was held in Pune on Thursday, 8th, August. AVTAR I-WIN and FLEXI Careers India in association with Ascent organised ‘SEGUE SESSIONS 2013’ – Pune edition. Like the previous editions in Chennai, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Jaipur, Gurgaon and Hyderabad this edition too witnessed enthusiastic response from women seeking transition to career. More than 600 women registered on the SEGUESESSIONS website www.avtariwin.com/seguesessions.It is estimated that there are 1.5 million women professionals in India who are ready to join the workforce after taking a break due to child care, elder care and other work-life needs. Companies recognise the potential of this skilled talent pool as such the SEGUE SESSIONS has received their overwhelming support right from the first event held in Chennai on December 22nd, 2011.DBOI Global Services (Deutsche Bank Group) was the Gold Sponsor for the Pune Edition. More than 200 women participated in the event that began with the welcome address by Ms. Saundarya Rajesh, Founder – President of AVTAR Careers Creators and FLEXI Careers India. Ms. Sandhya Vasudevan, Managing Director, DBOI Global Services, Deutsche Bank Group delivering the keynote address spoke on the benefits having more women in the workplace and how can women plan and prepare for a sustainable career. Ms. Oindrila Majumdar, Head of Asset and Wealth Management Operations, DBOI Global Services, Aditi Sharma, Vice President – Quality & Six Sigma, Cummins India, Ishmeet Singh, Business Head for Maharashtra & Goa Circle of Vodafone and Priya Tandon, Director Development, Allscripts participating in a panel discussion deliberated on why corporate are keen on engaging with second career women and the steps taken for hiring them.

The workshops which lead to skill-building among the audience are the key feature of The Segue Sessions. Ms.Nisha Verma, Head – Talent & Diversity, Vodafone and Anita Borulkar, Associate Vice President Human Resource, Sandvik Asia Private Limited conducted the workshop on ‘Networking for a SEGUE’. Ms. Sukanya Patwardhan and Ms. Ritu Walia from Tata Management Learning Centre facilitated the workshop on ‘Managing Internal Stakeholders Via New ways of Working’. Mr. Sharad Verma, Senior Director of Talent Engagement and Development at SunGard Global Technology and Ms. Mitu Seth, Mumbai Site Head of Human Resources, DBOI Global Services India conducted the workshop on Negotiating for a win-win. Ms. Seth shared her experience of coming back after a break in career.Mr. Kumaravel, Co-founder and Director of Naturals speaking in the session on ‘Entrepreneurial Opportunities for women’ shared his inspiring story of being an entrepreneur and how women are well suited for entrepreneurship.
